The dateutil module brings powerful extensions to the standard datetime module in Python. Scripts that require real-time data rely on the dateutil module to schedule or retrieve data at a specific time. Working with many scripts in this way can be daunting, given the number of changes users need to make to the data retrieved.

That’s when the Dateutil module enters. It provides advanced functionality to make the life of coders easier. The module provides extended features to the existing datetime module. But note that you still need to install the datetime module as a prerequisite.
